Discover Alberni Episode 25: Restaurants

The City of Port Alberni and the Alberni Valley have no shortage of options when it comes to places to eat. There are over 50 different restaurants and eateries in the Alberni Valley, a significant number for a community of just over 25,000 people.

Because the restaurant landscape is always changing, and there are to many good options to cover in a three-minute video, our goal here is to give you a general feel for the dining options available to residents and visitors of Port Alberni

Port Alberni has always enjoyed a wide array of good family restaurants, as well as pubs and sports bars. In recent years there has been an increase in the number of fancier restaurants preparing meals with the highest quality local Vancouver Island ingredients.

If you're looking for a dining experience with a view of the lake or Alberni Inlet, the Alberni Valley has you covered.

The micro brewery scene has really picked up in recent years, with a number of award wining options in nearly every area of town.

We couldn't talk about the west coast Vancouver Island dining scene without pointing out the opportunity to enjoy fresh seafood. There are a large number of fast food options in Port Alberni, including one of Vancouver's Island last and most famous Drive In restaurants. Rounding out the incredible area of dining options includes pizza places, chicken joints, Deli's, Cafe's, and Juice Bars.

The Alberni Valley also enjoys a growing number of dining options that represent cultural food from around the world. Authentic Japanese, German, Indian, Chinese, Greek, Australian, Mexican, Thai, and Moroccan food can all be enjoyed right here in the Alberni Valley.
