The core shopping district of South Alberni, centered along Third Avenue, is called the Uptown. Here you will find one of the largest concentrations of locally owned businesses in the valley, with stores containing health food, shoes, kitchen and linen essentials, new book releases, freshly butchered meat, handcrafted mochas, and beyond. In fact, during the summer months, the street gets closed to traffic for an exceptional Uptown Market. This is a market with vendors for homemade goods, crafts, food, and local businesses.
