Real Estate in Valleycliffe

Residential real estate listings are varied in Valleycliffe. Single-family homes range in styles between mid-century, craftsman, and custom designs. There are a moderate number of multi-family units such as duplexes, townhomes, apartment buildings, and condominiums. This allows the area to be accessible for various budgets, from humble apartments to multi-million dollar executive-style homes.

Houses in Crumpit Woods (also known as Plateau) lean towards executive-style homes, custom builds, and other luxurious homes. This area is in the most northern part of Valleycliffe and offers exceptional views and the best opportunity to buy land and build your own dream house. Buyers are securing plots of vacant land at the top of the hill to design their own custom homes. This is luxurious living in one of Squamish’s best residential locations.

There are very few commercial real estate options in Valleycliffe. The area is mainly residential, and businesses primarily tend to be based out of homes. With that said, there are very few home businesses registered in the area. There is a small plaza on Maple Drive with some commercial properties such as a restaurant and laundromat.

However, Valleycliffe is not necessarily the first place you think of when someone mentions commercial real estate listings. People choose more often to live, not work, in Valleycliffe. The distance to Downtown is very close, at only about a five to ten-minute drive. There are many commercial options there (and jobs) which makes Valleycliffe a very desirable place for quiet living.

Things to Do in Valleycliffe

Cycling and Mountain Biking

The geography in Valleycliffe is ideal for many outdoor activities, especially cycling. The smooth, elevated roads on Smoke Bluffs offer exceptional views of Howe Sound and the surrounding area, while the forested area to the east of Valleycliffe has multiple trails to choose from. Intermediate to expert mountain bikers will love the challenges of the Valleycliffe trails, while beginners can also benefit from casual rides in less populated subdivisions.

Hiking and Walking Through the Woods

Valleycliffe is perfect for hiking and walking. A local favourite walking path is the Stawamus Dyke Trail. This is a reasonably beginner-friendly trail for biking, though you do see more people using it as a walking trail. It runs along the Stawamus River, which is more of a peaceful creek than a rushing mass of water. This gives the trail a relaxed, comfortable feel. The nearby Stawamus Chief Provincial Park has even more options for hiking trails and walking paths. Hiking the Chief takes a good part of an afternoon to complete its roughly 4-5km round trip, depending on which peak is chosen.

Rock Climbing Guides

Interested in rock climbing but don’t know where to begin? A rock-climbing guide and a positive attitude are all you need to get started on this exhilarating sport. The Stawamus Chief and surrounding smaller bluffs are perfect opportunities to hone this skill. The nearby Smoke Bluffs is another popular site for rock climbing and rappelling. This is a common outdoor activity in the region, so the instructors have plenty of experience and understand the territory well. Instructions are available privately and in groups with all the necessary safety equipment and practices.

Camp With the Chief

The Stawamus Chief Provincial Park has more than just mountain tops and trails. It is a beautiful place to camp! Camping at the Stawamus Chief Mountain base means you will have a campground surrounded by spruce trees and other second-growth coniferous trees. Camping here is best suited for tents (due to smaller sites) and those that come with everything they need for their trip. A central cooking station and lockers for food protection are provided. Casual, no-frill camping set in one of British Columbia’s most beautiful forests is an experience not to be missed!
