About Tantalus
Tantalus is a family-friendly Squamish neighbourhood located between Brackendale and Garibaldi Estates. It runs along the eastern side of the Sea-to-Sky Highway. While Squamish is known for geological features such as many hills and mountains, this area is flatter than most, making it ideal for families with small children, the elderly, and those with mobility concerns. It is a quieter area backed against a forest on one side and the highway on the other. Generally, roads are used by residents and visiting friends and family, so traffic is low. Aside from the highway, no other significant roads cut through Tantalus. This gives the feeling that each street is a mini-community, perfect for families.
Tantalus is great for those that aren't exactly sure what they want in a neighbourhood because its location allows it to have so many advantages compared to others. This means residents have easy access to Garibaldi Shopping Centre, the Brackendale Eagle Run, Squamish River, a large golf course, hiking and biking trails, and the highway, only a short 10-minute drive to downtown Squamish. Its emphasis on residential buildings means it is generally quiet and safe. This gives Tantalus a perfect mix of comfort and functionality, with the amenities of nearby neighbourhoods right on its doorstep.

Eagle Run Viewing Shelter
Squamish is home to a bald eagle sanctuary. To the west, along the Squamish River, you can visit the Eagle Run Viewing Shelter. This is a designated space that is safely located away from the eagles' habitat across the river in the Brackendale Eagles Provincial Park. There are educational resources for visitors to read about the eagles and their general habitat. Relax and view these powerful birds as they fly through the sky and dive down to catch fish in the river - binoculars and a sunny day are recommended!

The eastern side of Tantalus is full of forested areas and trails. These trails are interconnected and suitable for walking, hiking, and biking.
