Tantalus is a family-friendly Squamish neighbourhood located between Brackendale and Garibaldi Estates. It runs along the eastern side of the Sea-to-Sky Highway. While Squamish is known for geological features such as many hills and mountains, this area is flatter than most, making it ideal for families with small children, the elderly, and those with mobility concerns. It is a quieter area backed against a forest on one side and the highway on the other. Generally, roads are used by residents and visiting friends and family, so traffic is low. Aside from the highway, no other significant roads cut through Tantalus. This gives the feeling that each street is a mini-community, perfect for families.
Tantalus is great for those that aren't exactly sure what they want in a neighbourhood because its location allows it to have so many advantages compared to others. This means residents have easy access to Garibaldi Shopping Centre, the Brackendale Eagle Run, Squamish River, a large golf course, hiking and biking trails, and the highway, only a short 10-minute drive to downtown Squamish. Its emphasis on residential buildings means it is generally quiet and safe.
