Real Estate In Riverwood/Birchwood Manor

There are a variety of suburban home options in this neighbourhood. There are condos, townhomes and single-family homes. There are a lot of newer build homes for sale as Coquitlam, and Port Coquitlam are developing quickly. Established neighbourhoods are located north of Blakeburn Lagoons Park. Homes here have fairly large-sized lots and often have renovated interiors. 

There are also some townhomes like that in Northview Place. Homes here are sought after as they are centrally located while having a quiet neighbourhood feel. Some townhomes have unfinished basements but have the potential to be converted to income suites.

About Riverwood/Birchwood Manor

Riverwood is a predominantly residential neighbourhood bordering the Pitt River in the Lower Mainland. It is located close to the Pitt River bridge, the connecting point of Pitt Meadows and Port Coquitlam. There is an abundance of parks, trails and schools in this neighbourhood and Fremont Village shopping centre, as well as a multitude of amenities, are near Prairie Ave.

There are a number of transportation options with easy commuting access. Cars have different route options to Vancouver, which is helpful if there is an accident or a hold-up on another route. Translink also serves this region by bus, with several rapid busses on the Lougheed highway. The R3 and the 701 routes get you to Coquitlam Center within 10 minutes. From there, the Evergreen Line SkyTrain can get you to urban Vancouver in 45 minutes. 

The Port Coquitlam school district is part of SD 43 (Coquitlam). There are two public secondary schools, five middle schools and thirteen elementary schools in PoCo. There are also a number of private schools. Douglass College is about 15 mins away in Coquitlam for post-secondary education, and the closest university is SFU in Burnaby.

Hyde Creek Rec Centre

This centre has several amenities and options for family members of all ages! Including a lap pool, a sauna, whirlpool, waterslide, river run and stream room. DeBoville Slough Trailhead

This trail follows the Pitt River dikes and has several entry points for ease of access closest to home. Locals use this trail as part of a daily routine to walk the dog, stay in shape, or catch a lovely sunset. It is a beautiful walk with wildlife to be enjoyed in any season. There is ample space for walking, bikes and horses! There are options for parking and even washrooms at the trailhead on cedar with multiple entry points. A perfect outing for an hour or two!

Minnekhada Regional Park

This regional park is a 10-minute drive from this Riverwood/Birchwood Manor. There are many trail options to explore year-round and multiple trail options ranging from an hour to 5 hours, and your furry companions are allowed on leash. There are 10 km of trail and 2 km of bike trails. Minnekhada has onsite facilities often rented for weddings in the summer months. There are also seasonal washroom facilities and ample amounts of parking spaces.
