When you live in Silver Valley, right in your backyard is the Malcolm Knapp Research Forest, located off Silver Valley Road. This forest is slightly over 5,000 hectares and is open from dawn to dusk for hiking. However, it is not available to bikes, motorized vehicles, or animals. Not to worry, as there are plenty of other trails for biking enthusiasts, including the Silver Mines Trail, a fifteen-kilometre loop that features exciting biking and hiking trails.
Golden Ears Provincial Park
One of the biggest public park spaces in the province is located just to the east of Silver Valley. Golden Ears Provincial Park presents extensive outdoor recreation opportunities to residents of Maple Ridge and beyond and is particularly prized for its hiking and horseback riding facilities. Alouette Lake is located within the park and is one of the area’s most popular destinations for aquatic adventures, including waterskiing, boating, windsurfing, and more.
