There are two real sub neighbourhoods in Eagle Ridge: Upper Eagle Ridge and Eagle Ridge CQ. Upper Eagle Ridge tends to have single-family homes, and Eagle Ridge CQ tends to have more apartments. Both these neighbourhoods offer a relatively quiet option compared to the hustle and bustle of nearby neighbourhoods. 

Houses in the Upper Eagle Ridge have stunning mountain views that overlook the City Center. Homes here are often built between 1990-2000. These houses are usually quite large, with many homes having 6+ bedrooms. This neighbourhood is optimal in proximity to schools, making walking to school an option. Nearby is Douglas College, which provides the potential for renting out a bedroom or basement suite. 

In Eagle Ridge CQ, there are some apartment buildings and even a local co-op. This co-op is called Falcon Crest Estates Housing Co-Operative. This neighbourhood is diverse and vibrant—many apartments here an updated and modern. Homes here tend to be between 3 to 5 bedrooms. About Eagle Ridge

Eagle Ridge is located next to Coquitlam's City Center neighbourhood, making it an accessible commuting neighbourhood due to the 3 Skytrain stations within a 10 min drive. Eagle Ridge neighbourhood also has multiple schools of all levels. The leading schools are Gleneagle Secondary School, Summit Middle School, and Eagle Ridge Elementary. 

There are also major medical services here that service Coquitlam and neighbouring cities. Eagle Ridge is a hospital that offers 24/7 emergency, general medicine, rehab and surgery. They also provide specialty services such as urology, plastics, and orthopedics. Nearby residents will find a Lifelabs Medical Service, which can be used for any testing or other services the hospital needs. 

Bordering on the British Columbia Highway - 7 is most of the commercial shops in Eagle Ridge. Notable parks are Walton park which offers trails, and a Little Lending Library. Eagle Ridge also has most of the Coquitlam Crunch, a trail that continues into Westwood Plateau. This trail is a favourite of locals and is considered a mini Grouse Grind - one of the more infamous Vancouver hikes.

Eagle Ridge has several amenities within a 5-minute drive, including the large Coquitlam Center Mall and Rocky Point Park. Rocky Point Park is an excellent outing location with many craft breweries within walking distance. Translink has good bus service access, which brings you to multiple transportation hubs. There are options for getting to downtown Vancouver via Bus, SkyTrain or West Coast Express.

Things to Do in Eagle Ridge

Coquitlam Crunch

This hike is located here in Eagle Ridge and has been mentioned in other neighbourhoods because it is one of the main attractions of Coquitlam. The Coquitlam Crunch features a 794 - plateau and more than 890 steps. There is exercise equipment and various stops along the way. The beginning of the hike is located at 2635 Runnel Dr, Coquitlam, BC. There is a parking lot just off of Lansdowne Dr., and a Lacrosse box can be found here, along with a lending library and a community garden. There is an off-leash area for dogs about mid-way up, and the hike itself is dog friendly. In total, the hike is 4.5 km and takes about 80 mins round trip. 

Port Moody Public Library/Recreation Complex

Located in Port Moody, this amenity is still within walking distance of some sub-neighbourhoods of Eagle Ridge. Here you will find Port Moody City hall, a skating club, a large electric vehicle charging station and even Port Moody Ecological Society (Noons Creek Hatchery). What isn't there to do here! This is a perfect afternoon outing for a family, with physical activities and opportunities for learning. The Port Moody Library hosts a number of programs and events. There are options for all ages like computer and tech classes, teen volunteer programs and baby times and storytimes.

City Centre Aquatic Complex

This Aquatic Centre has something for the whole family! Opened in 1994, this large and well-maintained complex is a 5-minute drive from the Eagle Ridge neighbourhood. The complex features an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a free-form wave pool, a relaxation area complete with a Dry Sauna, a Steam room and Whirlpool. The Aquatic Centre also has weight rooms, fitness classes, wheelchair-accessible parking and entrances, with all main amenities accessible.
