The neighbourhood of Gonzales, Victoria was established in the mid-1800s and is home to grand estates built in the early 1900s. Located at the southernmost tip of Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island, Gonzales is a waterfront district and one of Victoria's most affluent neighborhoods. There is a grassy area above the beach where off-leash dogs are welcome year-round, and during the off-season (Between September through May), you can bring your canine pals onto the beach for off-leash play. At this beach, you may see herons, seals, and even sea lions occasionally.

The Gonzales Observatory is a historical weather station that has been on top of Gonzales Hill for over 75 years. From its highest point, at 66 metres, you can watch the incredible sunsets over the water in the evening.
