Things to Do at Willow Point 

Elk Falls Canyon and Provincial Park

Hike the Elk Falls Canyon in Elk Falls Provincial Park to see incredible waterfalls, walk the riverside trail along the Campbell River, and hike old-growth loop trails full of the ancient Western red cedar and Douglas fir trees. The canyon view loop has an impressive bridge and viewpoints from which you can watch salmon spawning in the fall or just enjoy a light hike. 

The Haig-Brown House

Visit the educational, historic Haig-Brown Heritage House in Campbell River. It is a landmark, family-owned farmhouse on the Campbell Riverbank, with beautiful gardens that used to belong to Roderick Haig-Brown, a renowned conservationist and author who lived in Campbell River from 1936 to 1976, when he passed away. Today it is held by the city and managed by the city’s museum. 

There is a writer-in-residence program at this location. Each winter, a Canadian writer spends the winter producing public programming for the community as they work on their writing. This house also offers bed and breakfast accommodations in the summer, and the garden is for rent for weddings or other special events. 

Discovery Passage Aquarium

The Discovery Passage Aquarium is a hands-on, collect and release, non-profit aquarium with interactive displays of kelp forests, eelgrass beds and tide pools full of local marine species that are returned home after a season at the aquarium. They also screen films and host other events. You can buy a season pass to this educational and fun attraction or drop in during business hours.
