Things To Do in North & South BX
BX Falls
The BX Falls is just northeast of Vernon. This hike is about 3 km and takes approximately two hours. It's not difficult to go off the trail, enjoy the streaming creek, climb over the logs, and around the trees. The falls itself is at the bottom of steep steps. The beautiful, lush scenery is well worth climbing down and back up. Even on hot Okanagan summer days, it is cool by the creek and well shaded. A great day to spend with the whole family.
Silver Star Mountain Resort
This resort may have a small-town feel, but the big mountain is real. Silver Star is a local favourite and is a short 30-minute drive from Vernon, making it the perfect destination for the day or weekend. Whether you're on the hunt for the best powder to shred, a brisk skate, or even just to relax with hot cocoa, Silver Star has everything you are looking for. Even those new to hitting the mountain slopes can have an epic day with lessons and rentals.
Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre
Not far from North & South BX, Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre was created a little over 40 years ago and is known as a world-class cross-country ski resort. It is about 22 km northeast of Vernon, elevated at 1,660 meters, with over 50 km of groomed trails for the avid winter sports fan. Sovereign Lake hosts events like world youth junior champions, and they also have instructional classes and three-day courses.
