About Enderby, BC

The community of Enderby is located on the Shuswap River in the Thompson Okanagan. Just 13 km north of Armstrong and 19 km south of Salmon Arm. Enderby was officially incorporated in 1905 and is now known as a welcoming city in British Columbia, surrounded by outdoor beauty and endless exploration opportunities. Various agricultural and industrial enterprises are located in the area, including dairy farming, cattle ranching, fertilizer and feed production, mills, value-added wood products, and farming. 

With less than 3,000 residents, Enderby gives you that small-town feeling that is quiet and peaceful. Therefore, you won't be disturbed by traffic noises. Yet Enderby is only a 30 minute drive to Vernon, BC which has all essential stores, and Kelowna is a little over an hours drive away.

Explore Enderby's Natural Beauty

Tourists are a significant contributing factor to Enderby's economy, as many flock to Enderby as a vacation destination during the summer. There is never a dull day with endless outdoor activities to do around town, keeping you occupied in the spring and summer months. There are walking/hiking trails, places to fish, and plenty of gorgeous biking routes. Outdoor festivals and markets are also abundant during specific seasons. 

Winter Activities

There are still tons of activities for the outdoor lover during the colder months. With an average of four feet of dry, powdery snow and moderate temperatures lingering just below 0°C, Enderby mountains are a perfect playground for winter sports. Caravan Farm Theatre hosts live entertainment, jam sessions, and open-mic nights, where you can cozy up to a horse-drawn sleigh roaming the farm from one stage set to the next. You can also enjoy indoor markets, even in the winter months. 

Hiking

The Enderby Cliffs, a BC Provincial Park, is a popular hiking destination, with 2,200 vertical feet to the summit. Another hiking destination is Mara Provincial Park, a 32-acre park locals use to swim, boat, and fish. Mara Park even has picnic areas perfect for a day outing.

Wine Tasting with a View   

There are several wineries for the wine lover at heart that you shouldn't miss around Enderby. Waterside Vineyard and Winery is a gorgeous winery deep in the Okanagan Valley. It has been passed down to a couple of Alberta-born wine lovers. Call ahead or visit their website to learn more about their story and book a tour. Baccata Ridge is north of Enderby and has a tremendous organic red and whites selection. The Robertson family has been running this small but charming rustic taste cabin since 2016. Larch Hills Winery, South of the Okanagan, is a family-run vineyard and winery where only 100% BC grapes are used. 

Watch a Film Under the Stars

There are not many of these left anymore, but one of the most prominent tourist destinations in Enderby brings back the drive-in feeling at Starlight Theatre. Just 22 minutes from Vernon, it's one of the greatest drive-in theatres, making it the ultimate movie-going experience.
