Things To Do in Coldstream

Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park
At Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park, you can enjoy hiking, biking, horseback riding trails and plenty of different beaches. The park has managed to preserve all its natural habitat and is over 3,000 hectares of protected area. Bird and wildlife are flourishing, and horticulture buffs will be interested to know there are over 400 species of plants known to grow around the park.
Juniper & Crest Trails
A perfect hike for anyone, the 2.5 km Juniper and Crest Trails are popular on sunny days or hike up to the Turtle's Head to gawk at the Okanagan's oldest known living tree. Juniper Beach is not far away, so have a cool dip in the water when you can no longer stand the heat. Snap a picture of the beautiful flowers spread throughout like mariposa lilies and orange blossoms. Birds, yellow-bellied marmots, and other critters will be frolicking about. Bring your dogs along the marked trails and bring a lunch to make a day of it.
Coldstream Valley Estates Hiking Trails
Another excellent hiking opportunity, at a moderate level, about a 15-minute hike, you will get to view amazing landscapes and more nature and wildlife. Honeysuckle, roses, and dogwood flowers can be admired and keep your eyes open for the different types of shrubs and flowers, as well as many sightings of birds and butterflies. If you are looking for a hike to do with your friends, venture the old ranch road along Vernon Hill's grassy slope for a majestic view of the Coldstream Valley and Bluenose Mountain.
Vernon Golf and Country Club
This 18-hole golf course has been at the Coldstream location since 1922. The Okanagan Valley Railroad bisects the "inside five" from the rest of the golf course. There is a golf shop and clubhouse, which entices members to stay for lunch or dinner. The Country club is also suitable for hosting a small, intimate gathering, such as a special dinner or a large wedding reception.
Vernon District Riding Club
Since 1955 this Riding Club has provided a safe location to ride, learn, teach, and attend organized horse shows and clinics. Greater Vernon Athletics Park
Dust off your running shoes and head over to the athletics park where you can run the track, which is open from dusk till dawn. Just off Highway 97, The Greater Vernon Athletics Park is free to the public and offers track and field facilities, throw and jump areas and lots of field areas for soccer, rugby, field hockey, and football.
