Main North is on the opposite end of Main South, but they both have that convenient downtown living. South Main The market is an excellent destination for a quick bite, fresh sandwiches and salads, or a few grocery items, like fresh-baked bread, fresh meats, and deli. There is ample vehicle or bike parking as well. 

The School district of Okanagan Skaha includes Colombia Elementary, Parkway Elementary, KVR Middle School, Skaha Lake Middle School, and Princess Margaret AIM. The city is built to make cycling accessible, and the Okanagan Similkameen Transit System provides regular service between Naramata and Penticton. 

Things To Do in Main North & South

Check out the local vendors lining the streets from April to October, 8:30 am to 1:00 pm on the 100 block of Main Street. A great way to support locals and get some quality farm-fresh fruits and veggies, eggs, honey, baking, preserves and handmade crafts. For the craft cocktail lover or home bartender at heart, there is a selection of local liquor vendors each week for tasting and purchasing. The wine connoisseur is never left out, with over 85 wineries within a 20-minute drive of Penticton. 

South Okanagan Events Centre  

South Okanagan Events Centre has been open since 2008. It is the hub of world-class concerts, entertainment, and events in Penticton. Home to the Penticton Vees Junior ‘A’ Hockey team of the British Columbia Hockey League and the Okanagan Hockey School. The arena holds 5,000 seats with six concessions, a restaurant and suite service. 

Coyote Cruises Lake Channel Float   

Many are dying to check this off their summer bucket list. Whether you reside or just visit Penticton, take a relaxing seven-kilometre float that connects Okanagan Lake to Skaha Lake. Coyote Cruises offers inner tube rentals and shuttle transport back to the starting point. The entire trip takes up to three hours, but there is also a halfway point. You can rent various tubes, choosing between single, doubles, quads, 8-person and 12-person. Bring plenty of sunscreen and stay hydrated on this picturesque adventure. 

Gyro Park   

Generations have been flocking to Gyro Park since 1936, when the park became used publicly for entertainment functions. Gyro Park is 1.6-acres of outdoor entertainment. During the summer months, entertainers take to the outdoor stage for live performances, and outdoor festivals are held. When the park isn’t being used for a live show, tourists and locals take advantage of enjoying a picnic.
