Still, travel is best by car, as the two main highways, Highway #5 and the Trans Canada Highway, are easy to access. The Kamloops Airport is less than ten minutes away.
Schools within the area include Arthur Hatton Elementary, NorKam Secondary School and A.E. Perry Elementary. Two private schools are located in North Kamloops, Our Lady of Perpetual Help and Kamloops Christian School.
Things To Do in North Kamloops
Residents brag about the Rivers Trail that runs South and North of Thompson River from Downtown over to Westsyde. It is a gorgeous, mostly paved and flat pathway that anyone can enjoy. Along the path are some side trails to the beaches, so you can pack a lunch and relax on the sand. The Lac Du Bois Grassland Park also has over 51,000 hectares of beautiful grasslands and several hiking trails. You can also take your ATV or dirt bike to designated areas.
McArthur Island Park
McArthur Island Park is one of the best parks in Kamloops, with lots going on in the way of recreational activities. There are sports fields, a skate park, an arena, tennis courts, disc golf, and even mini-golf. There are mainly level walking paths through lush gardens and beautiful scenery. The park is 51 hectares in size and is located between North Kamloops and Brocklehurst on the north bank of the Thompson River.

Pineridge Golf Course is an eighteen-hole course located along the South Thompson River just East of Kamloops.
