About Juniper Ridge

There is quite a historical background when it comes to Juniper Ridge. It used to be called Cordonier Ranch before 1971 and was used for sheep grazing. Due to an accident involving a semi-truck and a sheep, the city was required to put restrictions so the sheep could not travel along the highway. The ranch area stopped being used and eventually became the community it is today, known as Juniper Ridge.

Juniper has few amenities, but they have a small grocery corner store that can get you through the day-to-day necessities. Not far out of the neighbourhood are larger big-box retailers, restaurants, a liquor store, and more to choose from. The local community centre, Juniper Park, has easy access to tennis courts, an ice rink with bright lighting, and a dog park that residents often enjoy.

Elementary students attend Juniper Ridge Elementary School, located on the community’s east side. There is also Ralph Bell Elementary. High school students attend Valleyview Secondary School, located just off Glenwood Drive at the bottom of the hill. Access to the Trans Canada Highways is only minutes away, and the Kamloops Airport is about 25 minutes away.
