Located west of Kamloops, Brocklehurst is a desired community, best known to residents as simply Brock. The community got its name after an orchardist from England, Ed Brocklehurst, who lived in the area in the early 1900s. Brocklehurst is Kamloop's largest neighbourhood, but it is a quiet community with light traffic in and out. It is perfect for the outdoor lover, with ten parks nearby and gorgeous views of the Thomson River to the south.

McArthur Island Park is less than ten minutes away and has endless outdoor activities to fill your sunny days. There is plenty of parking, bike paths, tennis courts, a boat launch, and more. The warmer temperatures contribute to the many lush orchards that grow, and you can guarantee much success growing your fruit or tomato trees.

The best form of transportation would be by car, as the transit system is lacking and there is not much in the way of travelling by foot. There are still restaurants, a grocery store, and other 

amenities within a fair distance to travel by car. Students living in Brock attend the nearby schools, including Kay Bingham Elementary, AE Perry Elementary, Parkcrest Elementary, Brocklehurst Middle school, NorKam Senior Secondary School, and Twin Rivers Education Centre. The Kamloops International Airport is also easily accessed. Less than ten minutes away, It’s located at the west end of Brocklehurst, via Tranquille Road or off Highway 5 via Ord Road.

Brocklehurst is noted for being a warmer micro-community, so longer summers mean spending more time outdoors and getting out as often as possible. Residents enjoy heading out to Riverside Park often. The Thompson River and Landsdowne Street border Riverside Park. It is one of the nicest waterfront parks to visit in Kamloops. With a beautiful sandy beach and lake, there are many other activities to enjoy outside. There is a trail nearby that offers a peaceful and easy hike of 2.8 kilometres.

The trail begins at the Japanese Gardens and follows all around the park. The friendship park is a great piece of Kamloops history and a beautiful photo backdrop.
